Which gear ratio?

Haute Route events take place in the mountains. Roads can be steep and you will need to have an appropriate gear ratio. Depending on your level of fitness, you might choose between 34×28 (if you are a strong rider) and 34×34 (if you expect to struggle with cut-off times).
