The only cycling event in the world where you can climb the best of the Alpes in one week

The Haute Route Alpes 2025 will take place from the 24th to 30th of August and will take you from Megève to Nice.

 


Stage 1 - Sunday August 24, 2025

Megève to Megève

With 104KM and 2600 meters of elevation gain, the main climbs for the day are : Col de L'Epine/Col de la Croix-Fry. This is the first day of seven, so you will have to tackle this first stage in no hurry. Take the time to find your pace !


Stage 2 - Monday August 25, 2025

Megève to Tignes

With 109KM and 3500 meters of elevation gain, during the second stage you will climb the Col des Saisies and the famous Cormet de Roselend. This Tour de France "Hors Catégorie" climb will be your first major test : 20 km and an average gradient of 7%.


Stage 3 - Tuesday 26, 2025

Tignes to Serre Chevalier Vallée

158 KM and 3500 meters of elevation gain. Some of the most famous cycling climbs in the world await ... Col de L'Iseran, Col du Télégraphe and finally the majestic Col du Galibier.

During the 1911 Tour de France, Gustave Garrigou, who was leading, faced a tough climb and made a famous remark about the Galibier, noting that "it’s not a climb, it’s a mountain!" This phrase has since become a part of cycling lore, encapsulating the challenge of this legendary ascent.


Stage 4 - Wednesday 27, 2025

Briançon - Col d'Izoard (Briançon)

With 95KM and 2200 meters of elevation gain, you will discover the Col'Izoard from "the other side" known as "La Casse Déserte". The legendary Fausto Coppi ascended the Izoard from La Casse Déserte in 1949, as he approached the summit, he famously remarked that the stark, barren beauty of La Casse Déserte, with its rocky outcrops and rugged terrain, made him feel like he was cycling on the moon...


Stage 5 - Thursday 28, 2025

Briançon - Cuneo (Italy)

140KM and 2900 meters of elevation gain, you tackle the other side of the Col'Izoard then cycle toward the Col d'Agnel culminating at 2744 meters ! You will now be deep into the your journey. Stick to your pace and enjoy as much as possible the breathtaking views.


Stage 6 - Friday 29, 2025

Cuneo (Italy) - Nice

The most demanding stage of your journey with 181KM and 3500 meters of elevation gain. After climbing the famous Col de la Lombarde followed by the Col de la Colemiane/St Martin, you will get to Nice, nicknamed The Pearl of the Cote d'Azur. Only the Haute Routers will understand that feeling : going from the highest mountains in Europe to reaching the sea after a life-changing journey ... !


Stage 7 - Saturday 30, 2025

Nice : Col d'Eze time trial

Last stage ! It is now up to you : will you go all out for this last climb, or will you use this stage as a form of celebration of your journey and take the time to enjoy the views ? Only you, with your feelings, after 6 days of majestic cycling, can answer this question...

In 1975, during the Paris-Nice race, Michel Laurent surprised everyone by defeating Eddy Merckx, the legendary "Cannibal," in a time trial on the Col d'Èze. This unexpected feat allowed him to win the race, marking the Col d'Èze as a legendary cycling site where even the greatest champions can be challenged.

With 800KM and 18.800 meter of elevation gain, the 7-day Haute Route Alpes is the pinnacle of multi-day cycling events since 2011
